"Keeping Passion Alive Through Jaipur’s Inspiration"
Being a woman between 45 and 50, balancing responsibilities while following my dream of fashion design hasn’t been easy, but my passion keeps burning.
During a trip to Jaipur — the Pink City, Amer Fort and its Ganesh Pol inspired my collection with their centuries-old paintings, colors, and architecture.
The journey wasn’t smooth — I faced several rejections before achieving a collection I was proud of. Mentor Anil Nair brought a twist to my thinking, guiding me to refine ideas and translate architectural details into fashion with meaning.
The results were incredible. At The Trial Room exhibition, my collection received heartfelt appreciation and nearly 95% sales, proving that dedication and passion have no age limit.
This project reminds me that fashion is more than design — it’s storytelling, resilience, and keeping your dreams alive.

"Stitched with Stories from Jaipur’s Pink City"
As an 18-year-old fashion design student, I found myself deeply inspired by the majestic City Palace of Jaipur and its famous Lotus Door. The details, colors, and meanings behind this doorway made me realize how tradition can be a form of self-expression.
My collection is all about weaving together that heritage, beauty, and individuality. Every stitch is like a little story from the Pink City, transformed into fabric and design.
A huge part of this project was possible because of the constant support of my mentor, Anil Nair. He encouraged me to not just admire the architecture, but to think about how patterns, colors, and symbolism can be translated into fashion. With his guidance, I was able to take my raw ideas and shape them into a real collection.
This journey was my first step in turning inspiration into creation — and it showed me how fashion can be more than clothes, it can be storytelling.

"Where Elegance Meets Royalty"
As a passionate student and full-time design enthusiast, my journey at the Anil Nair Fashion Design Studio has been nothing short of transformative. Guided by Anil Nair’s mentorship, I’ve learned to appreciate how heritage can merge seamlessly with modern aesthetics. The study tour to Chavi Nivas, the breathtaking blue room of Jaipur’s City Palace, was a truly inspiring experience—seeing the intricate patterns, dreamy blue hues, and poetic symmetry awakened a new creative vision within me.
It was amazing to see how the majestic atmosphere of Chavi Nivas informed our design process and sparked the idea for an inspired collection. Even when I struggle with my health, the lively and encouraging environment here at the studio always lifts my spirits and drives me to keep exploring fresh design ideas.
The process of transforming royal inspirations into fashion-forward pieces has been deeply rewarding, thanks to the constant support and insight from Anil Nair and the vibrant studio community.

"Balancing Exams & Fashion Dreams"
I’m 18, and while preparing for my 12th board exams, I also wanted to take my first step into the world of fashion design. Time was short, but my passion kept me going. For The Trial Room, I created handmade chopped hoodies with hand-painted antique can graphics.
Each piece is cleanly finished with edge and top stitches, blending a touch of nostalgia with a fresh, comfy vibe for today’s generation. My idea was to make something that feels both vintage and Gen Z-friendly.
This wouldn’t have been possible without my mentor, Anil Nair. Even when I had very little time, he guided me on how to take a simple idea and turn it into a full collection. From showing me how to balance clean finishing with creative hand-painting, to teaching me how to add storytelling into garments, his mentorship helped me bring this vision alive.
This project taught me that fashion isn’t just about trends — it’s about making your own space, even when life feels packed with studies, deadlines, and exams. This is just the beginning of my journey.

"Bringing Grave of the Fireflies to Life Through Art and Mentorship"
My surface ornamentation jacket is a personal exploration into the deep emotions and powerful storytelling of Grave of the Fireflies. For this project, I worked closely with my mentor, Anil Sir, whose insights and encouragement helped me dive deeper into the film’s message and translate it into art. Through our many discussions, I was able to see new perspectives and experiment boldly with my designs.
As a mother of two, balancing a working family and schooling kids, I could only make this project possible through crucial efforts and strict timeline management. I’m incredibly thankful to Anil Nair Fashion Design Studio for all their support throughout this journey.
I aimed to capture the film’s themes of hope amidst despair by bringing my artistic jacket to life with intricate surface ornamentation. The jacket’s details reflect the fragile beauty of fireflies and highlight contrasts between darkness and light, softness and harshness—echoing the movie’s emotional landscape. This jacket is more than just a fashion piece for me; it feels like a wearable story that invites people to reflect, empathize, and connect.

"Journey to Jaipur"
This collection draws inspiration from the Japanese anime Grave of the Fireflies, a deeply moving story of love, loss, and resilience. To me, the character Setsuko embodies innocence and purity even in the face of hardship. I wanted to capture her spirit through delicate handmade flowers and buttons—symbols of fragility, hope, and tender beauty. These details are carefully placed on denim, a fabric known for its strength, to create a meaningful balance between vulnerability and resilience. The silhouettes are kept youthful and soft, reflecting the simplicity and purity of childhood.
I am incredibly grateful to my mentor Anil Nair, who was an amazing guide and an endless source of energy throughout this journey. He pushed me to look beyond the surface and really connect with the movie, showing me how you can turn an emotional story into something you can actually wear. His enthusiasm and guidance made everything seem possible, and I honestly couldn’t have done it without his support.
